GHOSTLIMB on BrooklynVegan

BrooklynVegan presents an exclusive stream of Ghostlimb's "Canidae", a track off the band's fourth full-length, Confluence. Stream "Canidae", along with three other tracks off the new album, here.

Ghostlimb features frontman Justin Smith, also known as founder of Vitriol Records and guitarist/vocalist of Graf Orlock.

Out July 10, a split release between Vitriol and Melotov Records, Ghostlimb's Confluence perfects the band's signature sound. BrooklynVegan's BBG writes, "While both [Ghostlimb and Graf Orlock] practice in skewed hardcore, Ghostlimb eschews humor in favor of a more focused brutality and more straight-ahead punk rock on Confluence..."

Bruising, vise-tight hardcore shifts from blazing speed-picking to epic, bluesy choruses. The rhythm section of drummer Alex McLeod and bassist Neal Paul Sharma is monstrously heavy. The lyrics, screamed by Smith with pure conviction, examine human existence, often referencing historical events, from Ancient Greeks to Sacco and Vanzetti. Twelve songs in all, Confluence includes a cover of Hot Water Music’s ode to the underground, “Southeast First”.

One of the busiest men in the underground, Smith treks to Europe this month for an extensive European tour with Graf Orlock. Ghostlimb touring is expected to follow.
