Lush with orchestral majesty, seething with blackened intensity, Last Poem/First Light is a triumph of anguish and melancholy. Produced by Dean Baltulonis (Agnostic Front, Lucero), the album was recorded with an actual orchestra and choir in the studio, a feat which Stereogum praised, reporting, "it works out remarkably well... the symphonic tracks add depth and scope to the band's extroverted guitar melodies."
