1-800-BAND + CMJ

CMJ has premiered the video for "Diver Blue," the title track off 1-800-BAND's upcoming new EP.

Of keyboard-powered retro-rockers 1-800-BAND, oft compared to The Cars, CMJ's Eric Davidson writes, "The four seasoned punk-dive troupers who make up this Brooklyn power pop band know they're getting your goat with their cheeky moniker. They also know their way around a sharp hook."

Directed by David Cavallo, cinematographer of documentary films such as Jodorowsky's Dune, the "Diver Blue" clip plays out like a teen movie gone terribly wrong.

1-800-BAND's Diver Blue EP is out April 8th on Almost Ready Records, home to releases by Liquor Store, Nobunny, Atlantic Thrills, and more. The EP was produced by Kevin McMahon (The Walkmen, Swans), and mastered by Carl Saff (Guided By Voices, Unsane).

Having rocked New York exhaustively with bands like Liquor Store, Endless Boogie, and Call of the Wild, 1-800-BAND hits the road this spring:

April 5 - Brooklyn, NY @ Record Grouch
May 4 - Milwaukee, WI @ Quarters Rock Palace
May 5 - Minneapolis, MN @ Triple Rock
May 7 - Hamtramck, MI @ The Painted Lady
May 8 - Columbus, OH @ Cafe Bourbon Street
May 9 - Brooklyn, NY @ Bell House (Power Pop Festival w/ Dwight Twilley, Pezband)

"Some serious vibes of The Cars and other 1978/79 power pop/new wave bands..."

"Retro-pop, reminiscent of The Cars and other bands that were in vogue at a time when the good old land line phone was still inspiring hit songs (think Blondie)."
