CZAR + Godflesh

Chicago trio Czar prepares to hit the road in April for a short US tour, including a hometown show with the mighty Godflesh.

Apr 10 - Champaign, IL @ Error Records
Apr 11 - St Louis, MO @ Firebird
Apr 12 - Kansas City, MO @ Davey's
Apr 13 - Ann Arbor, MI @ Maidstone
Apr 15 - Chicago, IL @ Metro (w/Godflesh)
Apr 16 - Springfield, VA @ Empire
Apr 17 - Brooklyn, NY @ Saint Vitus
Apr 18 - Philadelphia, PA @ Northstar Bar
Apr 19 - Albany, NY @ Bogies

No strangers to the road, Czar toured the full US in 2013 with Killing Joke. Czar's sophomore album, No One Is Alone If No One Is Alive, was released in November of that year. Marrying the triumphant metal edge of Heartwork-era Carcass with a majestic power in line with post-hardcore royalty like Quicksand, NOIAINOIA nods to the past (there is a Beatles cover, no less) while pushing forward into expansive, post-everything realms.

Guitar World Magazine hailed the album as "truly a worthwhile piece of music for any fan of heavy music." Blabbermouth declared it to "represent what's innovative and intrepid in American underground metal." Decibel Magazine opined: "Astute listeners will not only notice some Mastodon prog twisting, but also some post-rock mountaineering. And lots and lots of despair. It's good stuff."

Both NOIAINOIA and the debut album, Vertical Mass Grave, were produced by Hum frontman Matt Talbott and released via the band's own imprint, Cracknation Records.
