1-800-BAND + BrooklynVegan

BrooklynVegan is now streaming Diver Blue, the new EP by 1-800-BAND, in its entirety. Listen here.

BrooklynVegan's Andrew Sacher calls the band, "devotees of late '70s power pop/new wave (think The Cars, Dwight Twilley, Cheap Trick)," playing "hook-and-riff-filled pop."

A recent review on Wondering Sound pegs it as "sugar-packed carbonated power-pop that groups like The Cars and The Raspberrries used to shake up and spray out on the regular, full of fizzy guitars and sticky-sweet keys. Frontman Al Huckabee has the same kind of heartsick pout as fellow Stiff-revering singers like Gentleman Jesse..."

1-800-BAND's Diver Blue EP was produced by Kevin McMahon (The Walkmen, Titus Andronicus, Swans) and mastered by Carl Saff (Guided By Voices, Unsane).

The EP is out April 8th on Almost Ready Records (Liquor Store, Atlantic Thrills), with the first 100 copies on blue vinyl. Pre-order, here.

The band plays a free record release show, tomorrow, April 5th, at Brooklyn's Record Grouch, also heavily rumored to entail free beer! A US tour follows, later in the spring.
