GRIEVER + Scene Point Blank

"Griever balance an accessible, pile-driving sound that recalls the burly hardcore of Coliseum or the roaring psych-metal of early Baroness... Though just about everything on Our Love Is Different unabashedly rocks, it has its subtler, tempered moments as well. 'The Endless Wall' is one such incredible moment, with the band slowing its pummel to an ominous chug and Jacobelli opting for a clean vocal performance...  A hardcore-metal hybrid done right, and another positive beacon for San Diego's scene."
–San Diego City Beat

"Alex Jacobelli and Cory Groenenberg are already responsible for playing in the great San Diego hardcore band Lewd Acts, and the two have formed another band together called Griever... which sees them adding Torche-style sludge to their punk upbringing."
–BrooklynVegan

"A massive skate bowl/melting pot of melodic punk, dissonant hardcore, emo straight from the basement of the '90s and melancholic post-punk."

–Decibel

Lewd Acts-affiliated crew Griever have unveiled "The Endless Wall," a standout track off their new Vitriol Records full-length, Our Love Is Different. The album's out next Tuesday, February 24th, on Vitriol – home also to releases by Graf Orlock, Ghostlimb, and Thou – and the plodding anthem that is "The Endless Wall" is now streaming exclusively at Scene Point Blank.

Featuring Alex Jacobelli and Cory Groenenberg of former Deathwish Inc stars Lewd Acts, the San Diego-based Griever is a post-hardcore machine which, in the words of BrooklynVegan, brings "Torche-style sludge to their punk upbringing." Griever's style is hoarse and driving, with moments of pure radiance – none more radiant than "The Endless Wall," a slow, moody crawl that gets downright majestic.

As Jeff Terich wrote this week in San Diego City Beat, "Though just about everything on Our Love Is Different unabashedly rocks, it has its subtler, tempered moments as well. 'The Endless Wall' is one such incredible moment, with the band slowing its pummel to an ominous chug and Jacobelli opting for a clean vocal performance..."

Our Love Is Different was recorded by Griever's Alex Jacobelli, with Tommy Garcia, and was mastered by Nick Zampiello (Converge, Coliseum) at New Alliance.
