MEEK IS MURDER + Alternative Press

Meek Is Murder's latest ripper, "Downward," is now streaming via Alternative Press.

The song appears on the Brooklyn trio's upcoming third LP, Onward/Into the Sun, out May 5th on Rising Pulse Records. Onward/Into the Sun collects the brand new Onward EP, produced by Kevin Bernsten (Full of Hell, Magrudergrind) and 2011's Into the Sun Where It Falls Off the Sky.

AP's Matt Crane calls "Downward" a "pulverizing new single... sounds like technical hardcore madness performed inside a fire tornado."

Crank it, here.

Comprised of current and former members of Enabler and The Red Chord, Meek Is Murder has advanced to the front of the Brooklyn pack, churning out six releases in six years and playing live with everyone from Converge to The Dillinger Escape Plan to Retox. The game is maximum shred and bottomless-pit breakdowns, charging forward like a rabid dog and usually done in two minutes or less.

Another track off Onward/Into the Sun, "Outward," was premiered by Noisey, here.

Bonus: for a peek into the inspirations behind the newest Meek jams, check out this video on No Echo, in which the band members share some of their favorite LPs from their own collections, from The Misfits and Mercyful Fate, to Igor Stravinsky and the Top Gun soundtrack.

"[Meek Is Murder] takes the intense fisticuffs of Lords, smashes it against Pig Destroyer's rabid proficiency and still comes across like an exorcism..."
