OLD WOUNDS + AllMusic

"Punishing New Jersey hardcore... On their second album, the upcoming The Suffering Spirit, New Jersey hardcore crew Old Wounds turns up the malevolence..."
–AllMusic

Old Wounds and AllMusic have teamed up to deliver the exclusive premiere of new single "Son of No One."

Stream the song, here.

"Son of No One" appears on the New Jersey band's second full-length, The Suffering Spirit, produced by Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder, Despised Icon), and coming June 30th on Good Fight Music.

As suggested by "Son of No One," The Suffering Spirit sees this underground band vault to the next level: massive, megaton hardcore in line with late '90s greats like Turmoil and Disembodied, laced with some of the dark flair of big-stage rockers like Type O Negative and Deftones. Vocalist Kevin Iavaroni, fast becoming known as a frontman with the prowess of Phil Anselmo and the glam of Davey Havok, brings his clean vocals to almost every song on the album, opening up a whole new dimension of Old Wounds' sound.

Pre-order The Suffering Spirit from Good Fight Music, here.

Road dogs of the first order, Old Wounds have toured relentlessly over the past three years with bands like Full of Hell and Cult Leader, and summer 2015 is no exception. The boys will be out on tour all summer long, having just added a month-long run with Axis to the itinerary, featuring support on select dates from Exalt and Of Feather and Bone. Stay tuned for even more summer 2015 tourdates.

"Emotionally charged, stylistically diverse metalcore, refreshingly devoid of the sugary melodies and bone-dumb breakdowns that propagate so freely within the mainstream hardcore scene... Frontman Kevin Iavaroni is capable of the razored vocal acrobatics of vets like Converge's Jacob Bannon, but he knows when to tone down his howls for a bit of La Dispute talk-singing. The instrumentation tends toward primal, primordial screamo... It's a furious – and meticulous – piece of work."
–Pitchfork

"This young New Jersey trio play metallic hardcore... which tips its hat to acts like Turmoil, Disembodied, and Buried Alive."

–Guitar World

"Old Wounds are making a name for themselves the old-fashioned way: getting in people's faces and freaking them out with punked-out metalcore."
–Alternative Press

"Youthful frantic hardcore sounds with churning metallic guitars... These guys are bringing '90s metallic hardcore back, taking influence from groups such as Turmoil and Indecision, and snowballing into a bigger piece of a new generation of hardcore."
–Mass Appeal

"Another high-powered speaker wrecker, turning the aggression way up on hardcore chugs and throat-charring screams."
–Brooklyn Vegan
