THE PROTOMEN - "This City Made Us" Tour 2016

"The lights here are bright, the music loud, the people unified; The Protomen are calling."

"The Protomen are unequivocally unique... positively inspired... unmitigated awesomeness."

"A fully realized arena-ready rock opera."

–Nashville Scene

"So epic Mr. Roboto would blush."

–Alternative Press

"Protomen feature two of the best voices performing live today."

The Protomen – the band WIRED has described as "unmitigated awesomeness" and whose live show Nashville Scene has called "a fully realized arena-ready rock opera" – gears up for its second tour of 2016: "This City Made Us" Tour 2016.

"This City Made Us" Tour 2016 sees the Nashville, Tennessee octet bring its conceptual spectacle to a handful of major North American markets, most of which it hasn't visited in over a year. The eight uniform-clad Protomen deliver epic songs with all the driving fury of the most bombastic hard rock hits of the '80s, and all the theatricality of the most over-the-top '70s prog. Queen, Bowie, Genesis, Styx, Springsteen, Journey, and Scorpions are some reference points for the uninitiated.

The Protomen's storyline begins with 2005's debut album, Act I: Hope Rides Alone, a post-apocalyptic tale of a dystopian world, followed by 2009's Act II: The Father of Death, a prequel, produced by Alan Shacklock (Meatloaf, Roger Daltrey). Act III is currently still in the works, but 2015's "This City Made Us" single hints at what is to come – "This City Made Us" drives forward with an '80s hard rock sound worthy of the Top Gun soundtrack.

Since forming over a decade ago, The Protomen have been a favorite at festivals like Bonnaroo, SXSW, Warped Tour, Bamboozle, CMJ, and Comic Con, and have been handpicked by Tenacious D to open for them on more than one occasion. Whether rocking a big stage or a dirty dive, The Protomen deliver a feast for the eyes and ears and add new converts to their massive cult following. "This City Made Us" Tour 2016 is rumored to be the band's final tour before once again immersing themselves in the studio to complete the recording of the long-awaited Act III.
