SPOTLIGHTS + Decibel

"90s rock, luscious psych and rattling sludge... Like a slowly evaporating dream... Makes you want to headbang with tears in your eyes."

Masters of the heavy and pretty, the married couple of Mario and Sarah Quintero conjure a dream-world of sonic bliss on "Hover" – as Decibel's Shane Mehling puts it, it is a world of "90s rock, luscious psych and rattling sludge... Like a slowly evaporating dream... Makes you want to headbang with tears in your eyes." Some reference points include Jane's Addiction's tribal drums and turbo-blues guitars, Godflesh's earthshaking bass tone, and My Bloody Valentine's ethereal vocals.

"Hover" appears on debut full-length Tidals, out May 13th on Crowquill Records. The album was recorded and mixed by Mario Quintero at various locations in Brooklyn, including Converse's Rubber Tracks Studio, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Fucked Up, Mutoid Man, Nails).

The Quinteros are both former members of Sleep Lady, a San Diego band whose 2012 album So Long Lonely Ghost was produced by Aaron Harris of Isis.
