"Kurt Ballou-helmed, mercurial and angular, head-sploding catharsis... Thrashy, mathy, and grindy... blunt force chugs to the cerebral cortex... Emotional stompers bring to mind, in their unabashed sincerity, monumental records like [Converge's] Jane Doe and [American Nightmare's] Background Music."

Meek Is Murder's fourth full-length album, Was, is now streaming in full via Decibel.

The prolific Brooklyn trio has worked nonstop since its inception in 2009, releasing music at an alarming rate and honing its craft down to a precise and effective art form. The sound is a stampede of fast, driving, hardcore punk, dripping with emotion, teched-up by metallic flourishes, and sent over the cliff by end-of-the-world breakdowns – all accomplished within songs rarely crossing the 2-minute mark. Decibel puts new album Was in the same league as Converge's Jane Doe and American Nightmare's Background Music.

Was was produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails) and mastered by Alan Douches (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon).
