"We first became acquainted with [Eddie Gobbo] via the power and fury of noise rock crushers Jar'd Loose. That band is sadly no more, but Gobbo's new act, Something Is Waiting, picks up right where Jar'd Loose left off."

"A stripped-down racket so snotty and unconcerned with the niceties of mainstream society, it would have scared the shit out of The Sex Pistols in their prime."

"A new and unique presence in the extreme music world... Something Is Waiting purvey a singular style that is equal parts infectious and blood-pumping. The band effectively combine noise rock's penchant for acidic angularity with '70/80s hard rock swagger... Think The Jesus Lizard-meets-Motley Crue."

New supergroup of the Chicago underground, Something Is Waiting, has premiered newest single, "Real Estate Cubicle Rock," today via Pure Grain Audio.

Listen, here:

Featuring ex-members of Jar'd Loose and (Lone) Wolf and Cub, along with Bricktop Recording owner/engineer Pete Grossman who has helped make records for Weekend Nachos, Harm's Way, and Like Rats, Something Is Waiting pounds out a nefarious rock n' roll groove, described by frontman Eddie Gobbo as "Today Is The Day meets ZZ Top," and by Svbterranean as "The Jesus Lizard meets Motley Crue." The sound is equally sinister and swaggering, straightforward and odd. In Gobbo's words:

"Very aggressive garage rock. Today Is The Day meets ZZ Top, if you will. Low grade supergroup featuring members of all Chicago bands. Sleazy as fuck, gnarly, unapologetic rock. No bullshit. No haircuts. I also do real estate contracting on the side."

Debut album The Something Is Waiting Band comes out this Friday, July 22nd on The Path Less Traveled Records. It was recorded and mixed by Pete Grossman at Bricktop, and mastered by Carl Saff (Red Fang, Coliseum).

Something Is Waiting, live:
Aug 12 - Chicago, IL @ Reggie's Rock Club w/ Mouth of the Architect
