BLACK TABLE + Revolver

Revolver has premiered Black Table's new song "Gargantua," off upcoming album Obelisk.

Twisting, turning, sludgy post-rock slides into a blackened hellscape, led by the truly brutal vocals of frontwoman Mers Sumida and double-bass drumming of Michael Kadnar (also a member of the reformed The Number Twelve Looks Like You and German act Downfall of Gaia). From mournful to horrific, Black Table paints vivid pictures – a world all its own. MetalSucks recently named the sound, "proggy, blackened metal... like a puddle of boiled oil, full of broken glass."

Listen, here:

Obelisk was produced by Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Sleep, Leviathan) and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice). The album comes out October 14th on Silent Pendulum Records in the US, and Moment of Collapse Records in Europe.

Sumida says the album deals with "depression as a human condition, explored through the mythologies of various cultures, like Aztec, Mohawk Indian and European literature."
