KNIFE HITS + Impose

"Five-piece hardcore/punk/screamo band Knife Hits... will chill you to your bones. The most mosh-worthy composition you may have ever laid ears on."
–Impose

"Knife Hits just might be our new favorite band... Intense and blistering, this stuff hits you hard, crushes your heart, and is done in fifty-two seconds... It's all killer; it'll set your ears on fire."

–Nerdist

"Stop-start dashes of Orchid worship, building on that screamo framework to find its own approach to controlled chaos... Akin to the likes of Loma Prieta, another group that's mined '90s screamo and found harmony within that chaos."

–The AV Club

"The brutal/intense side of screamo, veering into grind, along the lines of Orchid, Pg. 99, early Converge and Discordance Axis."

–Decibel

Knife Hits presents new single "Map Territory Relation," premiered today via Impose.

Listen, here:

http://www.imposemagazine.com/bytes/new-music/knife-hits-map-territory-relation

As Impose editor Meredith Schneider warns, the song "will chill you to your bones" and ranks as a contender for "the most mosh-worthy composition you may have ever laid ears on." Bold yet accurate, Schneider's words only begin to paint the picture of Knife Hits' white-knuckle-intense brand of screamo-grind, rooted in the fiery, bleeding-heart sounds of early Converge, Orchid, and Pg. 99.

Debut album Eris was recorded and mixed by Jonathan Nunez of Torche, and mastered by Nick Zampiello (Modern Life Is War, Unsane), and will see its release on September 16th via three labels

HOMEWRECKER + Good Fight

Good Fight Music welcomes Homewrecker to its family.

Skating the line between brute-force hardcore punk and the evil death-thrash of old-school '80s Slayer, the Ohio band has built its name over the past five years, releasing albums on A389 Recordings and touring with the likes of Integrity, Madball and Merauder.

New EP Extinction by Design is currently in the works and will be released this fall on Good Fight. The EP was recorded and mixed by Pete Grossman and Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording (Harm's Way, Eternal Sleep), and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Full of Hell).

Guitarist Matt Barnum offers this statement about the signing: "Since the dawn of its existence Good Fight has succeeded in creating a great name and roster for itself. With the welcoming of Homewrecker to the family, we get to stand alongside many other greats. Thank you, Good Fight!"

Good Fight's Rick Barnhart adds, "We've built this incarnation of Good Fight on 'family.' Almost all our bands are linked to each other in one way or another. When Joey from The Banner hit us up saying Homewrecker was looking for a new label, and knowing they already had relationships with most of our current bands, coupled with their sound and aesthetic, we knew right away they would be a perfect fit. Welcome, friends!"

Out today: DIE YOUNG - No Illusions

Die Young's new album, No Illusions, is out today on Good Fight Music.

–Metal Injection

"An aural assault anchored by heaping helpings of hardcore and thrash metal..."
-Lambgoat

"Downright feral... A storm of Destroy the Machines-inspired guitar lines."

"A staple of the Texas hardcore scene spanning back to 2002... Die Young has carved a permanent niche... They are able to blend exciting elements of hardcore and metal. The lyrical content focuses on a range of real-world humanitarian and social issues."
–Blow the Scene

"With their Bolt Thrower-like mix of hardcore and thrash, they take no prisoners."
–Ghost Cult

Reformed and recharged after a hiatus, the long-running Houston hardcore outfit Die Young returns with its debut for Good Fight Music, No Illusions – a feast of apocalyptic hardcore that nods to Slayer's evil thrash, Bolt Thrower's mournful war metal, Cro-Mags' streetwise snarl, and Earth Crisis' militancy. Led by vegan straightedge frontman Daniel Albaugh, Die Young takes a look at the human race through a harshly realistic lens on No Illusions – in Albaugh's words, the album is about "disappointment, irrationality, violence, nihilism, and pessimism."

Die Young, who have played everywhere from Hong Kong to Mexico to Russia to Alaska, will hit the road in the US this fall, including dates with Himsa (reunion show), Sentenced to Burn and Wake of Humanity, and a slot on Sound on Sound Festival in Austin, alongside Carcass, Baroness, and Young Thug.

COLOMBIAN NECKTIE + High Times

"Though they may have a penchant for cannabis, the after-effects have never dulled Colombian Necktie's metallic hardcore edge."
–High Times

"A rising name within the Los Angeles underground metal scene... [Colombian Necktie] has further mastered the art of balancing an ugly musical din with engaging Sabbath-boogie riffs."
-LA Weekly

A match made in stoner heaven, weed authority High Times has teamed up with Colombian Necktie to premiere the Los Angeles band's new video, "Don't Fear the Reefer."

As guitarist Ben Daniel puts it, "Colombian Necktie's music is weed in audio form."

New single "Don't Fear the Reefer" pays tribute to the green stuff, in the tradition of Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf."

Levitate, here:

http://hightimes.com/culture/music/video-premiere-colombian-neckties-dont-fear-the-reefer/

"Don't Fear the Reefer" appears on Colombian Necktie's new album All Paths Lead to Nowhere,
out September 30th on Black Voodoo Records.

Founded in LA in 2010, and named after a Big Black song, Colombian Necktie delivers driving, metallic hardcore that spirals off into a deep stoner-boogie trajectory. Colombian Necktie has succeeded in unifying the hard side and the stoned side into one sound, bringing'70s heavy metal grooves and tooth-gnashing punishment together in harmony.

In the tradition of other great LA frontmen, like Henry Rollins and Mike Muir, vocalist Scott Werren chooses realness over poetry – as exemplified on "Don't Fear the Reefer," the lyrics are so blunt and straightforward, they take on a new kind of profundity.

All Paths Lead to Nowhere was recorded and mixed by Erol Ulug (Dangers, Seizures) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Black Tusk).

Colombian Necktie embarks on a West Coast tour in September with Phobia and Nomads.

CAR BOMB - Meta

Metal enigma Car Bomb announces third full-length album Meta, coming October 28th.

Pre-order Meta:
http://carbomb.bandcamp.com/album/meta

Based in and around New York City, Car Bomb has made a name over the past decade as one of the most virtuosic metal bands in the world, drawing parallels to Meshuggah, Gojira, and The Dillinger Escape Plan – but as much as Car Bomb is a metal machine, the band derives inspiration from renegades across the spectrum, from Aphex Twin to John Zorn. New album Meta sees the band exercise its musical freedom with stunning results: Meta is a world where maddening technicality, massive grooves and soaring melodies are woven together into complex structures that burst with color, dazzling the brain and punching the gut.

As complex as it is, Meta is a puzzle that does not need to be solved, it can simply be relished. Car Bomb's magic lies in its ability to use inscrutable techniques to create music that viscerally rocks. On the micro level, Meta is a web of polyrhythms, modulations, and shred; step back and it is a feast of sound – an extended, blissed-out, headbangable state of wow.

Speaking of puzzles: to introduce Meta to the world, Car Bomb chose to launch things in a cryptic way. August 15th, the band emailed individual 5-second sound clips to select fans, with no explanation or instructions. Fans quickly connected with one another via social media and began piecing the clips together. In about one week, the work was completed and one full song was revealed: Meta's opening track, "From the Dust of This Planet."

A rich, 3-minute slice of what lies in store on Meta, "From the Dust of This Planet" churns and shifts, expanding and contracting like a conscious and schizophrenic machine, veering from absolute metallic punishment to a transcendent chorus you will be singing for days.

Stream "From the Dust of This Planet," here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUVcnsiRQ4M

Meta was produced by Gojira's Joe Duplantier and Car Bomb guitarist Greg Kubacki, and mixed and mastered by Josh Wilbur (Megadeth, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Escape the Fate). The album was tracked at Silver Cord Studio in Brooklyn, New York, the studio co-owned by Joe Duplantier and Car Bomb drummer Elliot Hoffman.

Duplantier and Suffocation's Frank Mullen contribute guest vocals.

The cover art and layout were created by Greg Kubacki.

Tracklist:
1) From the Dust of This Planet
2) Secrets Within
3) Nonagon
4) Gratitude
5) Constant Sleep
6) The Oppressor (featuring Joe Duplantier of Gojira)
7) Black Blood
8) Sets (featuring Frank Mullen of Suffocation)
9) Cenotaph
10) Lights Out
11) Infinite Sun

Car Bomb will support The Dillinger Escape Plan for a portion of its US tour in November.

EXALT + New Noise

"The great news is the album is chock full of heavy groove you will want to set on repeat, the bad news is what will happen to your neck after a few listens."
–Metal Injection

"Crushing brutality... Brief reveries of melody and oddly sweet serenades..."
–Pure Grain Audio

"Exalt weave together bone-breaking metallic hardcore with moody atmosphere... The Shape You Took Before the Ache marks the beginning of an exciting shift for this band..."
–Svbterranean

Canadian crushers Exalt present new single "Worship," premiered today via New Noise. "Worship" is the third single off upcoming album The Shape You Took Before the Ache, our September 9th on Good Fight Music in the US, and on New Damage Records throughout the rest of the world.

Stream "Worship," here:
http://newnoisemagazine.com/song-premiere-exalt-worship/

New album The Shape You Took Before the Ache sees Exalt deliver massive, minimalist chunks of metallic hardcore, laced with eerie melody. The ominous sound bears some hints of the '90s works of Godflesh and Deftones, while still grounded in the here and now, in league with the heaviest of today's hardcore heroes, like Code Orange and Harm's Way.

Of the new single, Exalt frontman Tyler Brand says, "'Worship' was a new venture for us as a band. It was a song less focused on being heavy, being aggressive, but more so it was a song focused on being a song, in a classic structural sense. We tried to utilize what we had as band to do something a bit uncomfortable and different for us."

The Shape You Took Before the Ache was produced by Pete Grossman and Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording (Harm's Way, Weekend Nachos) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Nails, Ringworm).

Fifteen tracks in all, No Illusions is a ripping, raging account of Die Young's metallic hardcore sound, seasoned as it is by more than a decade's worth of touring the world and honing its vision. Led by vegan straightedge frontman Daniel Albaugh, Die Young explores a worldview that is both compassionate and nihilistic, from veganism to atheism, and the band kicks out jams that nod to a range of heroes: from Slayer's apocalyptic thrash and Bolt Thrower's battleground laments, to Cro-Mags' snarling crossover and Earth Crisis' militant stance. Occasional acoustic passages and female vocals add a whole extra dimension.

ION DISSONANCE + Good Fight

Good Fight Music proudly welcomes Ion Dissonance to its family.

From Montreal, Canada, Ion Dissonance was one of the creators and refiners of a sound in the mid-'00s that was equally brutal, technical, and rich with pit-friendly grooves. Along with French Canadian countrymen Despised Icon and US bands like The Red Chord, Ion Dissonance mixed dizzying math and earthquaking heaviness into a vibe that served as a gateway for the death-core boom that followed. Between 2003 and 2010, the band released four albums and toured the world.

Now in 2016, Ion Dissonance is set to return with its fifth album, Cast the First Stone, to be released November 18th on Good Fight Music.

Check out new song "Treading on Thin Ice," from Cast the First Stone, here via Good Fight:
https://soundcloud.com/goodfightent/ion-dissonance-treading-on-thin-ice

Ion Dissonance frontman Kevin McCaughey offers this statement:

"First and foremost, we are excited that we inked a new record deal with Good Fight Music. For those who know us well it is certainly no secret that our band has encountered its fair share of obstacles through this 15-year journey, leading us to remain inactive for the better part of the last six years. With that being said, we look forward to a fresh start, and couldn't ask for a better fit than the relationship established with the Good Fight family. The professionalism, dedication, support and hard work going into this record is so much moe positive than our previous experiences thus far.

On a side note, we are beyond stoked to finally share with our fans the songs we've been working on for some time now. For the occasion we reserved some of the hardest hitting grooves you've heard from us to date. With Antoine [Lussier, Ion Dissonance guitarist] at the helm of production once again, we made sure to include a little bit of everything on this one. Cast the First Stone is a solid mix of all the essential elements you would expect to hear from us, with some new twists added. This is the next chapter in the Ion Dissonance discography and we are far from finished."

Stand by for more details about Cast the First Stone.

KNIFE HITS + The AV Club

"Stop-start dashes of Orchid worship, building on that screamo framework to find its own approach to controlled chaos. In a way it feels akin to the likes of Loma Prieta, another group that's mined '90s screamo and found harmony within that chaos."
–The AV Club

The AV Club presents the premiere of "Forgotten Vessels," the new track by Knife Hits.

Listen, here:
http://www.avclub.com/article/knife-hits-finds-harmony-chaos-forgotten-vessel-241200

Comparing the band to screamo-grind OGs Orchid and modern-day screamo torchbearers like Loma Prieta, The AV Club's David Anthony hails Knife Hits' brand of "controlled chaos," as immortalized on new song "Forgotten Vessels" and the debut album from which it comes, Eris. Knife Hits' sound is equally wounded and wounding, veering from the fragile to the ferocious within each song. It is highly recommended for fans of Converge and Discordance Axis, as well as the aforementioned bands.

With a release date of September 16th, Eris was recorded and mixed by Jonathan Nunez of Torche, and mastered by Nick Zampiello (Modern Life Is War, Unsane).

Eris' release is a joint effort between three labels: Dead Tank Records (home to records by Cloud Rat, Thou, and more) is handling the digital, and has teamed up with Hydrogen Man Records and Give Praise Records for the vinyl.

DIE YOUNG + PunkNews

Houston, Texas' Die Young unleash newest single "Providence" on the world today via PunkNews.

Listen here:
http://www.punknews.org/article/61605/die-young-providence-punknews-exclusive

Frontman Daniel Albaugh says "Providence" is about rejecting the notion of God and finding solace instead in the fact that the forces of the universe exist under no one's control: "I find it more comforting to think no one or no thing is in control, than a vindictive psychopath or an impotent coward."

"Providence" appears on Die Young's new upcoming full-length album, No Illusions, out August 26th on Good Fight Music. On No Illusions, the recently reformed band lashes out with a seething mix of Slayer thrash, Cro-Mags snarl, and Earth Crisis militancy. BLACK TABLE - Obelisk

Black Table announces the October 14th release of debut full-length album Obelisk.

Watch the music video for first single, "Obtuse," via MetalSucks, here:
http://www.metalsucks.net/2016/08/11/exclusive-song-video-premiere-black-tables-obtuse/

From upstate New York, Black Table rips open a portal to a darker world. Defined by MetalSucks as "proggy, blackened metal... like a puddle of boiled oil full of broken glass," the sound reflects an extreme codependence of atmosphere and aggression. Rich, hypnotic textures layer with absolutely devastating outbursts, and the tension between the two is glorious.

Legendary producer Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Sleep, Agalloch) captures Black Table's complex sound and unifies it in epic fashion on Obelisk. Guitars weave together to create scenes that range from mournful to regal, while the rhythm section punishes, driving forward with caustic bass tones, spirited blasts and double-bass attacks. Anderson's natural approach lets the music shine in its actual state, drenched in the emotions of its creators.

Atop this foundation, frontwoman Mers Sumida's hellish vocals completely decimate. Sumida possesses one of the most perfect, hair-raising screams in all of metal – not only has she mastered the technique, she uses it to convey true, horrific feeling. Sumida states that Obelisk's lyrics are a meditation on "human evolution, and looking at my own depression as a human condition as explored through mythologies of various cultures, from Aztec to European."

Obelisk was recorded and mixed by Anderson at The Dillinger Escape Plan's Backroom Studios, and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice). It follows the band's 2012 debut EP, Sentinel, and will be released on Silent Pendulum Records in the US and Moment of Collapse Records in Europe.

The cover art is by French painter Eric Lacombe.
The tracklist is as follows:
1) Equilateral
2) Obtuse
3) Helm
4) Shadow
5) Gargantua
6) Cromagnon
7) Homo Ergaster
8) Closing

Black Table bassist DJ Scully and drummer Michael Kadnar are both members of the newly-reformed The Number Twelve Looks Like You, and Kadnar is also a member of Germany's Downfall of Gaia.
